During late March the Young Trade Unionists received a phone call from the IBEW in reference to finding out more about our group. That next month the IBEW came down for one of our general meeting, letting us know that they would like to broadcast this group across the States to instill Unionism throughout as many youth as possible. The Young Trade Unionists are very grateful to have the unending support of our Local labor leaders and Local Unions throughout the State of Maryland, but it is one of the greatest feelings to know that our International Unions want to do everything possible to see “The Future of the Labor Movement” succeed. We would like to give a big thanks to IBEW International President Ed Hill and the IBEW media department for seeing our vision. We would also like to AFL-CIO Secretary Treasurer Liz Schuler for creating the vision and mobilizing youth across America. We would also like to inform everyone that the Young Trade Unionists have begun to take an active role in the election year of 2010. We have announced our goal to register one thousand voters. We are holding our first registration drive on Saturday, July 17, 2010 from 9am to 11am. This registration drive will be held in front of three Giant Supermarket Stores. The locations are:
